You know when our leadership starts yelling abandon ship every man for himself the sky is falling I start to lose confidence in them!!!  I have said all along this is an economic downturn that will pass, it is expected and historically proven to be necessary to bring everything back to where it should be.  It is evident that we are, as a whole, pulling out of this recession.  I can see the difference in our mail volume daily.  Our BBM is coming back consistently because no matter how you slice it there is no better way to reach the masses.  The Internet is a wonderful tool but it just doesn't have the same impact as our mail system does.  We are working out the bugs to be competitive in today's market!!!  We have a product that is top of the line and that is the Flat rate shipping box, it has been a boon for our retail sales.  Click -n -ship is alive and well EBay and Amazon has done us wonders.

My retail sales are up 20% over last year and even last year in the height of the recession we were up 15% from the year before.  No one has lost faith in our system except our leadership!!!  As the captain of my ship I say hold your head up high Postmasters - in our two hundred years of history through all economic ups and down's we have held the wheel and guided our ships in safely.  We have protected our revenue, our gross national product, our employees and our organization once again.  You always see who the true hero's are when the storm waters subside.  God Bless the Postmasters of this state and country!!!
